Next Order of Business ... Your Holiday Search

Tech roles are in high demand as we head into the holidays and beyond in 2025. After a year of heavy hiring across operations and marketing, software roles are re-emerging—which means it's time to tighten up your resume in preparation for the next several rounds of hiring.

1—Get Started

Begin your job search as early as possible to access the best roles as companies often start interviewing and hiring sooner than expected. 'Tis the season to network, research, apply for jobs and follow up with potential employers. Unlike most years, recruiters are spending time between December and January looking through resumes for great candidates to fill roles starting in the New Year.

2—Network Actively

Reconnect with your professional network and let them know you are actively searching for a job during the holiday season and beyond. You can even set your LinkedIn profile to #OpentoWork, which will display a badge on your profile photo.

3—Stay Organized

Keep a list or spreadsheet of the companies you've applied to including contact information, important deadlines and notes to stay on top of your search. Update your personalized "tracker" with key contacts and new information as you learn more about the status of your applications.

4—Consider Your Schedule

Decide how much time you will devote to your job search each day and use time blocking and your calendar to stay accountable. We recommend spending 1-3 hours daily on your search during this busy time of year when hiring managers and HR professionals seek to fill key roles.

5—Leverage Job Boards & Team Tangerine!

Regularly check industry-specific job boards and use mobile apps to access new opportunities. LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor and Monster are a few good places to start. Keep your eye on our open positions—we've been adding lots throughout this month!

6—Follow Up

The 'fortune is in the follow up.' After submitting applications, especially those you've been able to send directly to hiring managers, actively follow up with potential employers to show your interest. A personalized email thank you is a great way to stay top of mind, and also gives you the chance to address anything you feel you missed during your interview.

Having a plan is crucial, but flexibility is key. Plans should evolve with changing circumstances. Adjust your plan as needed based on new information or unexpected developments.

Elevate your job search today—apply these tips and watch your career prospects soar! For more personalized guidance or to share your success stories, reach out to us. We’re excited to support you in achieving your career goals.

Happy holidays and see you in the New Year!
